New governments often say they will bring structural and tax reform. Few really deliver. However, in Canada, we have seen the Alberta and Ontario governments bring levels of structural reform that have brought significant improvement to their economic well-being. Now we have a Liberal British Columbia government that is bringing new meaning to structural reform in government. Premier Gordon Campbell is changing the face, infrastructure and delivery of government. It is unlike anything seen in North America in recent decades. Premier Campbell's "New Era" approach was fully established as the foundation to "new government" within months of his landslide election. But what does this mean for you? What does his approach to New Relationships with First Nations mean?
  • New Linkages - There's a new dialogue with government - Mayors, communities, executives, workers, civil servants, Ministerial Assistants, MLA's.
  • Influencing Policy - In B.C., all policies are being reviewed. All Ministers have been given more responsibility for dynamic change, and more accountability for instituting change. There's still lots that industries and stakeholders from all sectors need to understand about the new government's new and emerging policy shifts. There's still much for the government to know about needed policy changes - that's why they're out listening more actively than ever.
  • Building Relationships - There are a lot of new people making big new decisions in Victoria that affect all of us. New relationships are being built. Are you in the loop?
  • Working Together - The "us vs. them" approach to government won't work in Victoria. They have an agenda and it includes working with stakeholders but not necessarily capitulating to them if it's not in the broad public interest. Are you in the loop?
We Can Help You:
  • We work with you to deal with government politicians and bureaucrats on issues that impact on you.
  • We know how to work on government policy development so the end result impacts you positively.
  • We work with industries to build links with the government - to find solutions that will benefit B.C.
