Vancouver Riot: Sick to My Stomach

I am literally sick to my stomach today after sitting on the couch with my kids last night and watching, in shock and disbelief, as this city’s downtown core was trashed by mindless, cretinous hooligans, emboldened by a slow police presence and by the frenzied exhortations of the tweeting, camera-wielding, snap-happy mob of losers.

Ransford’s in the Top 20!

Ransford’s always in our Top 20 at COUNTERPOINT – even in our Top 5!  And it’s nice to know that he’s one of BC Homes Magazine’s “20 Most Influential People in Residential Construction”.  He’s been the urban planning columnist for the Vancouver Sun for about 10 years, and speaks widely on urban planning, new urbanism, and residential development.  We’re happy to see him recognized and thank BC Homes magazine for the honor.  See attached story.

The other day, I was trying to explain to a client why he had been trashed on Twitter. A year and a half ago, I didn’t even have a Twitter account and wouldn’t have been able to offer even the slightest advice to a client about this new communications medium. Today, I have close to 850 Twitter “followers”.
