Be Reasonable

It’s amazing how vulnerable we are to being convinced, simply if we’re given reasons….or rather what’s amazing is that we allow entirely bogus and nonsensical reasons to sway us.

A recent case in point was the loud debate over removing an old naval wharf from the Vancouver waterfront. Never mind that it was decrepit, useless, an eyesore and expensive as hell to rehabilitate, the “reason” that many people cupped their right elbow in their left hand and thoughtfully stroked their chin was that the pilings were soaked in creosote and pose an environmental threat to sea life.  http://tinyurl.com/23duunu

Every time we set out on a video production that involves real people rather than actors, we come across the same challenges we always face, and pursue the same solutions and advice. I’d love to know what others think and how they manage the use of amateur talent in productions. The reason we prefer real people to actors in most of the videos we produce for internal communications, recruitment and engagement videos is that they are more effective and – frankly – more genuine.
